The study uses pulse-wave signals captured through the smartwatch’s PPG sensor, together with factors including age, gender, height and weight. After between three and 14 days of continuous wear, the technology assesses potential diabetes risk.
Rather than replacing professional medical assessment, the resulting information is designed to encourage users to pay closer attention to their health and consider making earlier lifestyle adjustments.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 will be offered in 46 mm and 41 mm sizes, with seven colour options[2] to suit different preferences. Meanwhile, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro will be available in three colourways[3] and features a nano-tech ceramic bezel paired with a titanium alloy middle frame.
The Pro model further enhances its premium construction with sapphire glass, while the new EasyCross Strap introduces a neat tuck-under design intended to provide a secure and comfortable fit.
For improved readability outdoors, both models feature a bright AMOLED display capable of reaching up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, making information easier to view in challenging lighting conditions.

Meanwhile, Smart Route Reconstruction can estimate sections of a route where GPS connectivity is temporarily lost, helping users maintain a more complete record of their activity.
Golf enthusiasts can also look forward to new features on the Pro model, including Plays-like Distance and Shot Distance tracking. Cyclists, meanwhile, can take advantage of tools such as Intelligent Climbing Planning, Sharp Turn Alerts and Lactate Threshold Analysis.

Battery endurance remains an important part of the HUAWEI WATCH GT experience. The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro and HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 46mm offer up to 21 days of battery life, while the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 41mm can deliver up to 14 days.
Beyond health and fitness, the series continues to offer practical everyday features. These include Touch ’n Go QR payments and compatibility with both Android and iOS smartphones.
The Pro model also supports CE- and MDA-certified ECG functionality, further expanding its health-monitoring capabilities.
